Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
St Thomas of Canterbury Primary school encourages the participation and inclusion of all children regardless of their needs and abilities. Teachers provide a rich, balanced and differentiated curriculum to ensure that all our pupils fulfil their potential in all areas of school life.
The school draws upon the support of the SENCO, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Integrated Service from Merton and other outside agencies to ensure pupils receive the best provision possible.
The school values the key role parents play in the education of their children and ensure that parents are involved in any decisions made regarding the needs of their children. Progress is monitored closely to ensure that needs are met and that any barriers to achievement are identified, reduced and overcome.

All Merton Maintained Schools are supported by the Local Authority in ensuring that the needs of all children with SEND are met and that they are able to make the best possible progress regardless of their needs.
